Inspiration

Look at this image from Cath Kidston. All her stuff feels so romantic and feminine. I don't know if this qualifies at Glamping. It is more like the Glamping of picnicking. Would that be "Gourmicnicking?" Whatever it is I love it. Cath Kidston also has so many things that would make for a great glamping dining experience. Take a moment to check out her website

Cot vs. Air Mattress

My good friend and fellow Glamping mom thinks cots are the way to go. She likes the under bed storage they provide and how little space they take up when packing. She has her heart set on these Easy Cots by Byer of Maine. I am not giving up my air mattress but I could see my three boys in these gorgeous cots featured in Country Living magazine. The pictures are from Monique Keegan's woodsy weekend retreat Summer Haven. I am a huge fan every thing she does. Check out her blog Enjoy Co. here .

Sleeping in Style

I there is one rule of glamping, I think it should be that glamping only happens on a raised bed. Crawling around in a tent on all fours is not glamorous. There are many solutions from camp cots to double height inflatable mattresses, but this Queen sized one from Frontgate really has me excited. The framed legs leave enough room to store stuff underneath the bed. Other similar beds aren't designed that way. Less mess equals more comfort!

What is Glamping?

"Glamping" is the art of bringing luxury and comfort to camping. Historically camping was synonymous with roughing it, but there is nothing rough about glamping. Already places like the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort in British Columbia started to help people enjoy the great outdoor in 5 star style. These resorts come at a high price but it sure inspires the soul to incorporate some of these ideas into your next camping trip. I love these big white canvas tents and the purple flowers in front!
